I’ve been athletic since I can remember. At the age of 13, I started racing & jumping BMX bikes. At 15 years old, I was introduced to the gym because if I waned to get better at riding bikes, I had to build muscle. Going into my 20’s, I discovered my love for full suspension mountain biking hitting black diamond trails, and pushing myself to the absolute limits. Because of this, it sparked my interest with MMA. I fought as an amateur for roughly 3 years at 135lbs When my life took a dramatic turn. I was around 22 years old when I got diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. I was told that I would have to live with it for the rest of my life. Possible surgeries that could lead me to a colostomy bag and to be put on medication for the rest of my life. I was constantly sick, taking medication daily, and injecting myself with Humira weekly which led to depression and no motivation to even go to the gym. Despite what doctors told me, I was determined to not give up and did my own research on this disease refusing to believe that I would have to live this way forever.
Through a positive mindset, and with the help of health & Fitness, I am happy to say that I’ve been medication free for 9+ years.
